Established in 1924 with one trained American nurse and ten Indian trainees, the Philadelphia Hospitals School of Nursing is a pioneering institute of medical training in India. The first batch of nurses 91 years ago – when medical care for women was almost unheard of except for the traditional mid-wives – were trained in General nursing, Anatomy, Physiology and Mid-wifery. By the 1950 the School had attained its reputation as one of the best in the the country.
School of Nursing is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and Haryana Nursing Council. Currently it offers a 3 years .months Diploma course in General Nursing and Mid-wifery. the school plans to start Post-basic BSc and BSc Nursing degree c programs very soon.
Every year 40 students students pass out and go on to join the nursing profession.
Alumni are placed globally, particularly countries like USA, UK, Canads, Ireland, Germany and Gulf Countries, and in primere institutions of India, such as, All India Institute of Medical Science, PGI Chandigarh, CMC Ludhiana and many other premier institutes.
Philadelphia Hospital provide 10 to 12 seats for economically weaker sections of the Christian Community,and offers them a post training two years work contract at the Philadelphia hospital hospital.
Process of Admissions starts in the month of July, and batches are taken in the month of September every year.
After completion of training students are equipped to work in any international standards hospital . As we provide extensive hands-on training. During the training period we have student exchange programs with St Stephens Delhi and CMC Ludhiana.
