B Pharmacy – Nursing in India Pharma also is known as the Bachelor of Pharmacy is a bachelor’s academic degree in the field of pharmacy, B. Pharmacy is the study of various subjects that come under pharmaceutical science such as drug safety, discovery, medical chemistry, industrial pharmacy, and several other subjects. B. Pharma. (Bachelor of Pharmacy) Courses

For bachelors, there are primarily four types of pharmacy courses, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (lateral entry), Pharmacy (Hons.) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda).

Bachelor of Pharmacy – Students who are interested in understanding how medicinal drugs affect our bodies and want to take up pharmacy as a career. To pursue a Bachelor of Pharmacy, students should clear their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology as core subjects. The duration of the course is four years, where students learn several trade skills.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (Lateral Entry) – Lateral entry to B. Pharmacy is given to those students who have done their Diploma in Pharmacy or D. Pharma and are interested in going for higher studies in pharmacy. The lateral entry scheme allows the candidate to get admission in the second year of B. Pharma. Due to this, the duration of the course is three years.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) – Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) is an undergraduate degree that is awarded to those who have completed the pharmacy study across eight semesters. B. Pharma (Hons.) gives exposure to students in the field of pharmacy. There are various aspects, technicalities, and rules of pharmacy that are taught to the students.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) – It is a four-year undergraduate course spread across eight semesters. In Bachelor of Pharmacy (Ayurveda) students are taught about various aspects of Ayurveda. Apart from healthcare students also learn about good living, wellness, and well-being. Ayurveda is also considered the science of life. B Pharmacy Course Duration

Pharmacy is one of the most lucrative fields. A variety of courses are available for those who wish to pursue careers in pharmacy. Depending on the course, the student might earn a diploma, a degree, or a postgraduate degree.

A B Pharmacy degree is an undergraduate degree in the pharma industry. The course is 4 years long and is divided into 6-8 semesters depending on coursework and experimental sessions. One can practice as a pharmacist or chemist upon completion of this course. 

B Pharmacy Course Eligibility Criteria

For B Pharmacy courses, the eligibility criteria are simple, clear, and standardized. Depending on the college to which they are applying, students must sit for Entrance exams or can be selected based on merit. 

Following are the detailed eligibility criteria for students who wish to apply for the B Pharmacy course:

The student should have passed their qualifying examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks

Their +2 curriculum must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

Those who hold the three-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D Pharmacy) may also apply.

 B Pharmacy Admission Process

Many colleges, universities, and institutions conduct entrance exams for candidates seeking admission to B Pharmacy programs. Moreover, some colleges offer direct admission to students based on their academic achievements.

Students can take an entrance exam at either the national level or the state level after completing their 10+2 education. 

Students can apply for exams like Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT), National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Joint Entrance Examination (NIPER JEE), National Testing Agency (NTA) and other are national levels entrance exams. 

Besides the national exams, you can also apply for state-level examinations such as BITSAT, MHT-CET, BHU-CET, UPSEE, PUCET, WBJEE, etc. as per the criteria for those examinations.

 B Pharmacy Course Fees

Well, depending upon the various parameters of a college or university, the annual course structure might vary. But generally, B Pharmacy fees range from INR 15,000 – 1,25,000 per year.
